This will probably not be up very long once the YouTube police find it so watch now while you can! The guy who posted it has it broken into 10 different parts. If you click on his username you can see the entire broadcast. Enjoy!
What did you think? I wrote a whole post about it but in the end I didn't publish. Basically, I thought a very real story was there but told with too much hindsight afforded by the editing suite in NY or LA. Prefer the live streaming coverage. That said, if some people watched it and where inspired to go for a run yesterday and then again today and tomorrow, then that's rad.
Cool that it is broken down like that! I have it DVR'd and watched it 2x already - very good to watch a trainer to. I fast forward through every Macca interview so I don't puke at his arrogance. :)
Yeah, so Macca is a bit of D-Bag, but hey, what would a sport be without some sort of "controversial" player, right?
They dude does speak the truth though...
The thing I love about this year is that NO ONE knows what will happen next year. Chrissie will probably return and kick butt. The men's field will be WAY open I think.
So glad you posted this - as a "wanna be" triathlete I don't know very much about the pro circuit, etc... I just finished watching all 10 installments.... the pro's are awesome and genetically blessed but the real inspiration is the Lou and Carol's of the world...... the real people....the fighters, the age groupers, the people who just want to see how far they can push themselves. That is what inspires me. Thanks again for posting - it made the night pass by as I lay in bed sick as a dog.
And will be watching again tomorrow morning for the 3rd time b/c I have a 90 minute ride that I am going to do on the trainer I believe. Fun times right there.
It was a great race. I still have a little bit of a man crush on Chris Lieto because he is such a sick biker. I was glad to see Macca win it. He talks a lot of smack, but he can back it up because he works extremely hard, and was the toughest hombre out there on race day.
As for Chrissie, it will be interesting to see what happens. I know everything thinks she will crush the competition, but I predict a competitive women's field in 2011. You've heard it here first... at the Carrot... a competitive women's field in 2011.

ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible ending for the men! I was also very moved by the regular people.
