About the event
Athletes will begin with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Woodlands. Next is a 112-mile bike course that will take participants west through the scenic, rolling farmland of east Texas. The day ends with a 26.2-mile run course entirely within The Woodlands that concludes with a spectacular finish on Market Street.
Jeff
I think you peed your pants and are shaking from excitement, because you forgot the "s" for pants.
ReplyDeleteCalm down before you register, you don't want a miss-type there.
Then you should have no problem peeing on the bike. That is so exciting Jeff! Looks like it's gonna be a hot one that late in May...but you are used to it.
ReplyDeleteMay the heat and fumidity have Mercy on your soul!
ReplyDeleteP.S. How lucky are you that its THAT close!!!!
How awesome is that! In your backyard! I guess that makes it easy to set your A race on your schedule for next year!
ReplyDeleteDamn! That is pretty frickin awesome. Major jealous to have an actual Ironman sanctioned event in your backyard.
ReplyDeleteDon't lie to us, you had something to do with this didn't you?!
Looks like I am going solo on Cozumel now :(
I am pumped for you! Hometown hero baby!
Whoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteWow - unreal that you have IM in your backyard...I guess the decision was made for you? Congrats!!
ReplyDelete-D
Hi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteThis is great news! Wow, an Ironman right in your hood:) I wouldn't worry about the heat and humidity...you are used to it and I am sure will perform better than the poor athletes who don't deal with it like you do! Cheers to Friday's registration! Is Annie going to do it too?
OMG!!! I didn't pee, I did something else in my pants.... just kidding (I'm too old)
ReplyDeleteActually, now I have to do 5 instead of 4 more continental USA IMs to hit them all.... another $550 WTC gets from me.....
So does this mean I have a place to crash if I sign up??
ReplyDeleteVery Cool...Before I consider this...what is the temp in Texas in May :)?
ReplyDeletegood catch Patrick ... Annie was rushing me out the door for dinner!
ReplyDeleteBob, WTC upped it to $600 for this one?
Matt- the wife is upset about Cozumel also, might have to do both (-;
Julie - Annie says "hells no"
James - check ur email (-:
Jason - temp is usually between 85-96 with 60-70% humidity -- Brutal heat!
Woohoo! How exciting! :)
ReplyDeleteJeff, with the way you train, this will be a piece of cake. If the water's cold, peeing in your wetsuit should help.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Do you get the option of riding a horse instead of a bike from the middle segment??? haha. Ok, that was my lame attempt at a Texas/cowboy joke. I'll shut up now.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are going to need that spreadsheet again as soon as you finish up your HIM training :)
Soiling your britches over an Ironman! The thing is right in your back yard, too. The question is....which tat are you going to get?
ReplyDeleteWow that’s fantastic! What a goal to go for!
ReplyDeleteYou too young to be start wearing Depends
ReplyDeleteI am so very excited for you! I wish I could commit to doing this race but I will probably have to wait until the next year!
ReplyDeleteIs $600 entry standard for an IM? Sorry for the rookie question.
ReplyDeleteLuke - Usually $550 - $575. But I am guessing that the $600 cost will be the standard for 2011.
ReplyDeleteYay for you! Now go do some laundry!
ReplyDeleteTHAT SO is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI just peed a little too. I don't know why. Gotta go.
:)
Jeff is Ironman bound... but, I always knew it would happen! Awesome!
ReplyDeletewow, looking forward to following your journey!!
ReplyDeleteI knew you would! Very excited for you.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteSorry a little late in catching this post. That is excellent. I look forward to watching all your training.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!! Although I won't be ready for a full IM - It will be 4 weeks post my first half IM in NOLA... I'm going to come and volunteer! I have a few friends racing IMTX as well so it will be super exciting!`
