Unleash Your Geek ...

We are all a bunch of geeks.  Yes, admit it, you are a geek.  I read your blogs and this, without a doubt, has been verified.  But being a geek is not a bad thing my blogger peeps.  Quite the opposite. It is actually an awesome thing!

Okay here is the idea:  Since we are all blogger internet geeks, let's pull together our collective internet shopping knowledge  and compile a list of awesome websites that offer incredible discounts.

Let's no longer keep these little gems all to ourselves, it is time to share!

List of Websites to Get Good Deals on Swim/Bike/Run Gear:

BonkTown.com - This site lists a different product every 30 minutes. It has everything from cycling components and parts to jerseys and bikes.  This site is like the internet form of crack.  You will be compelled to check it out multiple times daily in search of a great deal.

Nashbar.com  - Bike gear at extremely low prices.  They have tons of clearance and deeply discounted gear.  This is probably the first site I visit when beginning my internet shopping.  Be careful here because this site always seems to find things I didn't even know I needed until I bought it!

ebay.com  -  You are probably all thinking, "Duh, Jeff!"  I know this is obvious but the fact is many of us are to damn lazy to search ebay for deals.  Take the time to check ebay and in most cases you will be glad you did.

RunningWarehouse.com - This place is great for finding the perfect shoe. It has side-by-side comparisons and breaks shoes down by running type. A lot of times they will give away Tech Tees or other freebies and shipping is free.

PerformanceBike.com - Mostly bike gear.  Tons of discounted clothing.  Good prices on nutrition.   Have lots of one or two day online only sales.

Amazon.com - Okay people.  This is the mecca for find cheap Tri gear.  Any piece of Tri-related equipment you can find will be found on Amazon.  If I find a great deal on one of the above sites I will then check Amazon and see if they go lower.  If not then then other site has a great deal!

InfinitNutrition.us -  This is the site that make my liquid nutrition. They allow you to create your own formula. I primarily use infinit for long course races and long training days.

That is my list.  Please go to the comments and add in some of the sites you go to and I will add them to the list.  Then after we get the list I will post it on the header tool bar and we can access it anytime one of us needs to do some online shopping!  Thanks for Playing!

Thanks for Reading,

Jeff

  3. probikekit.com

they are out of the UK, but sometimes they offload ZIPP wheels at bargain prices

Thanks for the links! Will have to check them out.

Amazon.com is dangerous. I came too close to buying some wheels that I didn't need.

  4. LOVE this idea!! Oh man oh man you ROCK!! I was going to add probikekit but Jon beat me to it.

You can get a 5%-10% discount at Triathlete Sports if you Use coupon code BT-W on checkout (Beginner Triathlete). That can't be used in conjunction with any other offer or on sale/closeout items.

Also, half.com for tri books. You can get some deals..

That is all I have thought of off-hand.

Once this is done, I might (if it is cool) make a button to put on my blog that links to your discount page...or we could do the same button all around...anyway, more on that later. GREAT IDEA.

Obviously, I am a gear slut.

  5. Awesome idea!

I like Caratunk Girl's idea of creating a button/shared page for all of these links.

You covered a lot of big ones I use. A couple of additions:

    http://www.swimoutlet.com/
Good prices on swim gear. I've ordered a few jammers from them over the years.

    http://www.treefortbikes.com/

This is a Michigan bike shop that has a great selection of bike parts. Shipping is a bit high for a single item, but the prices for parts are some of the best I have found.

  6. Awesome idea! Definitely make a button so we can all put it on our blogs!!!

You already have some great ones, but here's another one:

www.chainlove.com It's just like bonktown, but different! :)

  7. After a day or so of everyone putting the links in the comments I'll put them all on a separate page with a button. It'll be just like having a bookmark for everyone.

I need to stop looking at all the new pages -- gonna be broke real soon!

  8. I love ZombieRunner.com and I get most of my stuff there but I must say I was very impressed when RunJunk.com told me today they could overnight me some electrolyte tablets I've been frantically looking for so I can get them before I leave for Greece - and the shipping only cost me $4.95.

  9. http://www.steepandcheap.com/ does the same as Bonktown (which I've never heard of) but with more of an outdoorsy spin. I've seen trail shoes, thermals, etc. all there. They refresh more often though - usually around 5-10 mins or as quickly as the item sells out.

  18. Jeff - I didn't see it, and mileage may vary, but I heart roadrunnersports.com. Their try it for 60 day rule is the best - helped me decide Saucaony's weren't for me. Got a great deal on my Timex Global Trainer and shipping is free for VIP members (only $1 a year).

  24. Jeff, you did not list me. I got some sweet-ace deals too. C'mon man, spread the love.

Coincidentally, I am more of a Battlestar Galactica (the best science fiction show EVER,) nerd than a geek.
