P90X Round 2 Day 88: Rest Day

As I mentioned the other day, I decided to take yesterday as the scheduled rest day. I didn't really need it but I was very busy with work and an HOA meeting. I didn't get home until after 10pm and pretty much went to bed.

Despite the crazy day I still was able to eat clean all day long ... so I don't want to hear others say, "my day was too busy to eat clean!" That is an excuse. If you plan ahead you can always get in your proper nutrition.

Today after work I am going to run 5k and if I am not too beat up feeling get in Core Synergistics. Annie is doing Back & Biceps today and wants me to workout with her but I feel like I need to stay away from the resistance workouts this week. My body is starting to feel a heck of a lot better and I want to start my upcoming Triathlon training at 100&.

Thanks for Reading,

Jeff

  1. I could tell you a story about an HOA and one pink-flamingo stuck in someones yard...but I digress!

I rocked Core Syn this morning. All those lunge/kickbacks/presses...nailed 'em all one last time. Tomorrow is Yoga, then I'm finished with my first round of P90X. I feel like a 9th Grader on the final day of school and my last class is PE! I love it!

Enjoy all that runnin' and bikin' you'll be doing. It's going to be fun! I look forward to reading all about your training.

  2. Good job on eating clean. I agree with you. You can eat clean if you plan ahead. I went to the island of Molokai last weekend to visit my parents. I packed up a cooler with stuff I could eat.

  3. Steve -- Congrats on completing the X! It was awesome that we were on the same schedule and it has been a pleasure sharing this experience with you.

Now that you are done and have sipped the P90X Kool-aid, what are you going to do next?

  4. Boomer,
I have to spend tomorrow morning and part of the afternoon at the Houston Convention center working a CE class for advanced endodontics (very exciting stuff). Since convention ctr food is awful I will be packing a balance bar, protein bar, turkey sandwich on wheat, some carrots, and a bunch of water. I have my little cooler all ready to go!

  5. Jeff:

I'm going to do a workout similar to what Chris Chelios (hockey player) does during his off-season. I'll do a total body circuit with heavy weights (no resting for an hour) on M/W/F, then a serious Ab/Core circuit on T/Th, then maintain my appointment with Yoga X on Saturday. I bought a Gymboss Interval Timer to keep things moving and the intensity level up.

I'll do that for a month or so before I begin a modified 2nd round of P90X, using dumbbells and cables instead of pushups.

That's my plan but it may change. I don't want to take anymore time off than I need to. This recovery week was perfect and I don't feel I need to heal any more than I have.
