P90X Hybrid Day 19: Legs/Back and Ab Ripper X

Very exciting! Just got home from the gym and what is on the TV? The 1986 classic "The Delta Force" starring the always awesome Chuck Norris!

Why is that exciting? Well, for one it is just a great movie about an American Special Forces Team kicking some terrorist butt. Back in the day when our country wasn't run by a bunch of lefty progressive whiners! But it is also awesome because during my workout today I felt like Chuck Norris, baby!

That is right, when I was doing push-ups I didn't push myself up I pushed the earth down!

I love the Chuck Norris jokes - always crack me up!

Today was my favorite P90X workout Legs & Back and I absolutely slammed it. As many of you P90X vets have point out, once you get used to the P90X videos you become impatient with all Tony's talking and just want to move it along. Well, I am a member of that group but have found a way to make it work in my favor - Do more reps! Especially on the leg exercises. What I do is just keep going when he stops and starts talking about the next move. I am adding 5-10 reps on most of the moves and the results have been glorious!

I also had a ton of energy left (thank you NO Xplode) for ARX and added a whole bunch of reps for this too. For the Mason Twists I did 50 reps with a 6 lb medicine ball. Rested for about 30 seconds and did another 50 reps with the medicine ball. Just killed my core! No windshield wipers though, I didn't want to embarrass myself because the Masons destroyed me!

Alright, I am out. Gonna go watch Chuck Norris shoot missiles from the back of a dirt bike at terrorists -- Good Times!

Tomorrow is a Running Day, 5 Miles, 9 minute miles!

Thanks for Reading and See ya when I see ya!

  1. Git 'em Chuck Norris! Yeah! Jeff's that funny stuff. What CAN'T Chuck Norris do?

I found that using the music and cues only, I could concentrate on getting more reps done without Tony's banter. I actually enjoyed it the first time through, but then you get used to it. The music, especially on Shoulders and Arms, is rocking.

  2. While Tony was talking I used to use that as an opportunity to do more reps too. Gotta make a positive out of a negative.

Sounds like you hammered your workout today - good job!

Just think... the new "hero movies" will star Barney Franks!

  3. I saw a Chuck Noriss poster the other day that said:

"Chuck Noriss doesn't read books, he just stares them down until they give up any information he wants."

    Oh and

Chuck Noriss has counted to infinity... twice.

But as for Foolsfitness it's all about the more rare fitness program P.25x, where the aerobic workout is a walk to the store for cookies. -Alan

  4. Alan - Chuck Norris died ten years ago, but the Grim Reaper can't get up the courage to tell him.

    or

Brett Favre can throw a football over 50 yards. Chuck Norris can throw Brett Favre even further.
