30 Day Review and Pictures

Here are my 30 day pics: CLICK HERE!

I did a side-by-side with Day 1. So, let me know your thoughts.

When I started P90X 30 Days ago I weighted in at 181 LBS. As of this morning I weighted 174 LBS. What is amazing to me is not that I lost 7 LBS, but that I lost 7 LBS while eating 2700-3000 Calories a day!

Has P90X been worth the money? My short answer: Absolutely!

And here is why:

I decided to do P90X because I was basically nowhere near as fit as I used to be and I was on my way to becoming obese. When I was younger I could eat anything I wanted and since I was an athlete and always active it didn't show on my body. Once I hit about 27 years old that started to change. However, my lack of discipline with eating stayed the same. And it started to show!

I decided that I needed to do something. I did not enjoy going to the gym and I never really learned what healthy eating actually meant. I saw the P90X infomercial and it said I could workout at home with limited equipment and it would teach me about nutrition - Bingo!

Well, 30 Days into the program and P90X has lived up to everything it promised and probably more. I am looking forward to the upcoming 60 days and I believe the healthy lifestyle that I have learned about will become the norm for me and not just a 90 Day hiatus.

How do I feel about my pictures? I still have work to do but I am pleased. My arms and shoulders have increased in both definition and size. My back looks strong again. I am starting to see some abs just below my ribs, and my beer belly has been cut in half. This is only 30 Days and in my opinion the results are pretty good. I don't believe I could have achieved this type of success by going to a gym 4 or 5 days a week and working out by myself. The structure of the P90X program have made it easy for me to follow and have also helped to keep me motivated.

I also must admit that this blog has helped with my motivation as well. With Mike, Ryan, Matt, Andy and few others checking in and posting their success and advice has helped me to Bring It. So, thanks guys and keep up the great work!

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Let me know if there is something else you would like to see on the blog that could help you out or any questions about the P90X Program.

Thanks for Reading,

Jeff

Man your improvements definantly show. It appears that your shoulders have started to increase in size and get defined. Your upper back definantly has alot more definition, and your biceps are starting to rise up! I can also see that your mid-section is becoming slimmer and looks more toned. Keep up the good work. I just finished up my Cardio X which i got up at 4:10 to do! I will be doing Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, Ab Ripper! I injected more cereal into my diet to add some carbs and it looks like i will be cutting out some almonds and replacing them with some fruit to add in more carbs. That should even my ratio's out to about 40(pr)/39(ca)/21(f) so that should be good enough for me. The little bit of extra calories will be exerted + more during Cardio X 3 days a week! Anyways keep up the good work. I will be posting my Day 30 pics on The DailyPlate on Wed. I may not get around to doing the side by sides until this weekend due to a hectic schedule. They will be on the Beachbody Message Boards on the Topics: Single Xers, All I want for Christmas is Six-pack abs, and the L train hopefully by Saturday evening. Anyways have a nice day buddy.

  3. Cardio X is a mixture of Yoga to start off with, which is kind of slow..... then it gets more upbeat when it goes into Kenpo, Plyometrics and Core Synergystics. It is a little shorther than the regular workouts which is good! Thanks for the help with the computer links etc... if you can't tell i am not tech savvy....I'll let you know when i post that stuff. I will try to post early this weekend i imagine. My work entails me getting up at 5:30...so when it is a doubles day that makes it 4:10.....but I'll push through

  4. Hey, Jeff:

    extraordinary effort!!!

I take my 30 days Sunday. I know from the first time I idi the X (last year) that the results don't show as much until phases 2 and 3. However, the difference is noticeable!!!

I know I FEEL different. I don't feel bloated and slow, I have a much more fluid walk with a little spring in my step. My old 42" pants look like clown pants on me now.

Are you using bands exclusively? Since you are serious, look into some adjustable dumbbells on CraigsList. I bought a set of Ironmaster 75's for $200, which is less than half their cost new. Heavy Pants with 75's is sweet...there is a lot of great fitness eqipment out ther for sale, if you don't mind used. I have a Precor treadmill, Water Rower rowing machine, Soloflex, Timeworks FX aerobic ab cycle thing, pull up power tower, dumbbells 5 - 50 Lbs, Ironmaster 75's, several medicine balls, 3 pairs of pushup stands, yoga mats & blocks. The room I use has 1/2 inch padded tiles. I bought most of it used on craigslist. Total cost for everything? Less than the Precor would cost new, less than $3,000. This is over kill for most, but I thought it worth the investment in myself.

    KPP,

  5. Hey Andy,

Let me know how the 30 day pics look and if you want me to post them I will.

I am using the bands for everything except pullups (Bar is installed). I use lightweight 5-10lb dumbells on some of the cardio workouts when a little bit of weight can be added.

My problem with using free weights is from an injury I had my first year of college. Long story short - I dove to catch a football, so did the 260lb guy, I caught the ball, he came down on top of me, my shoulder stayed on the ground and my body kept moving. 3 torn ligaments and broken clavical and shoulder. Not good times. So when I use free weights it puts a lot of pressure on the joints in my right shoulder which isnt that stable to begin with. And the bands really sre low impact so that is my primary reason for using them -- and I travel!

That being said I would love to use dumbells but I am afraid.
