Goodbye 2009 ... Hello 2010

I just started thinking about what a good year 2009 was and how much I am looking forward to 2010!

Some interesting events, in no particular order:

- Finished my 2nd round of P90X.
- Hurt my left shoulder - thanks to P90X.
- Officially reached my mid-30's.
- Started Running, Swimming and Biking.
- Competed in my 1st Triathlon.
- Competed in my 2nd Triathlon.
- Competed in my 1st 5mile Race.
- Competed in my 1st 10K Race.
- Competed in my 1st 50K Race and got worst blister ever!
- Bought a Road Bike.
- Sold a Road Bike.
- Bought a Triathlon Bike.
- Totaled 304 Posts to this Blog!?!
- Went to Pamplona Spain - Ran with the Bulls!

This blog has made it fun to look back on the year. I still can't believe I was dumb enough to Run with the Bulls?  And I still can't believe how damn bad the 50k hurt - the hardest thing I have ever physically had to do without a doubt!

Now 2010 looks like a lot of fun:

- January 1/2 Marathon.
- Feb 1/2 Marathon.
- A 1/2 Ironman Training Program.
- April Olympic Triathlon with an Ocean swim.
- Repeat of the 2 Sprint Triathlons I did last year.
- November 1/2 Half Ironman.
- December 50K Trail Run (Yes, I am not right in the head).
- Also plan to mix in a bunch of 5k and 10k races on open weekends.

  1. Jeff:

That's an impressive list of accomplishments! I remember bumping into your blog during my first phase of P90X back in January 09. I can't believe its been a year, but we're both all the better for it. I'm in the best shape I've ever been in my life. Your blog has not only kept me encouraged throughout the year, it's also on my list of sites I have to visit every day.

For a lot of folks, just putting one triathlon on the list is accomplishment. You're knocking 'em back with regularity. Running with the bulls is also a once-in-a-lifetime event!

I wish you and Annie a successful and profitable year for 2010. I hope you get better quickly and start spinning that trainer again.

    Happy New Year!

    Steve

  3. Steve, Thanks alot buddy! Your positive comments through out the year have really helped to keep me going. So glad I could return the favor. With you and Boomer we have started are own little "accountability group" and the support from you guys has been beyond extremely positive. IT is amazing how this little thing called the internet can bring people from around the country together to help achieve common goals and I am very grateful for that!

Heck, when I was doing the trail run and when my legs just gave up on me around mile 27 I thought about you and Boomer and not wanting to let you guys down if I quit. I was really, really in a lot of pain. But I sucked it up and finished - you guys were a big part of the reason I did. If I would not have had the "accountability" waiting for me at this blog I may have opted for the ATV ride back to my car?

Oh, my wife love HTFU also. It is the final line on her wrist Road ID!

  5. Wow, what an impressive year! Dude, that is a hard act to follow! I can't wait to read all your accomplishments for 2010.

Like Steve, I remember coming across your blog as P90Xer. In fact, I remember reading your posts about P90X+. The next thing I know, I am doing Interval X Plus. It has been great sharing our experiences. You and Steve have become a part of my daily routine.

I wouldn't mind getting one of the Road ID's... not only are they good for an emergency, but at my age I may need it when I go on of my Alzheimer's adventures.

  7. Thanks Boomer! Project Exercise keeps me going as well (-:

The Road ID's are a good idea. You hope they never have to be used. The $20 they cost is well worth the piece of mind. Especially with all the outdoor, alone training we do.

    Chuck,
Good to hear from ya man! Good luck on hitting your fitness goals in 2010!
