P90X Round 2 Day 19: Legs. Back, and Ab Ripper X

Happy Friday everyone! Today was a good day all around. I started out my morning with a whey protein drink and some whole grain toast with peanut butter. I had a pure protein bar for the midmorning snack. Lunch was a big chicken salad with fat-free dressing and a Atkins Vanilla Protein (15G) drink. I had some carrots for an afternoon snack and am having a Caesar salad with chicken for dinner and some apple slices. I also drank at least a gallon of water already today and took all my Nitrix tablets and had Cell Mass around 1pm and then again after my workout.

I am really feeling the new supplements I am taking. My energy has been through the roof! After today's workout I did three more sets of static curls and swimmer presses. The Legs & Back routine just beats up your whole body. Eight different sets of pullups/chinups absolutely kills your back and all the squats and lounges make your thighs and calves burn like hell. Then you toss in Ab Ripper X and this is just a complete body workout.

Tomorrow is Kenpo X day and then Sunday is the Rest or Stretch Day.

Thanks for Reading

Jeff

  1. Legs and Back ripped me a new one today. It did seem a little easier though. I have been having problems w/ my grip. Since I have upped weights for the legs excercises my grip gets worn down holding them. By the time I do some of the pull ups it is hard to hold on. You will be glad to know that I came oh so close to finishing the Ab Ripper today. I have begun plotting out my Gym Bulking Workouts for March, April and May. I have set up 3 weeks with different excercises planned. It will kinda go like this: Certain set of workouts: weeks 1,2,3, and different workouts for 5,6,7 with the X. I will also be adding in another set for 9,10,11. These weeks will all be set up with lots of 5X5 sets to focus on Bulking up. i will also intake between 3200-3400 calories. The weeks inbetween will be regular weeks of the X to rest from the heavy lifting and concentrate on tons of reps as a change up. I will also incorporate Plyo, Intervals and Yoga into almost all of the weeks. I will probably replace plyo for Core synergystics for the rest weeks.....I'm getting so excited!!

Keep up the good work my friend!!!

  2. I meant it to say as with the X after 5,6,7. The workouts will all be done in the gym except for rest weeks....

  3. I have Yoga X today, off tomorrow, then its on to Phase 2 on Monday with Chest, Shoulders and Arms. I can't wait. When I tested CS&A when I first got P90X, it was one of the best workouts I had ever done. Phase 2 will be the make it or break it Phase, I can already tell.

  4. Matt ... That is a lot of caloreis man! You should bulk up with no problems at all! The last week I have been adding a couple of extra weigh lifting sets to the end of my regular workouts to try and add bulk. The cellmass and nitrix I have been taking is helping also. Good luck with the Gym and let me know how it is going for you.

  5. Steve, Have fun with yoga today! And congrats on getting therough Phase 1. Chest, Shoulders and Arms is an awesome workout. Matt will tell you the same thing too ...we love it! I can't wait to start doing it with dumbbells. You are right about Phase 2 being the make it or break it phase. I saw good results on day 30 but day 60 they were remarkable results. Bring it as hard as you can!

  6. Just finished Yoga. My stretching has improved a ton just this "off week". Last week, I couldn't get both hands on the ground for those single-leg hamstring stretches...today, both hands (fingers, not palms!) were touching on both sides.

There are a few moves that for some reason, I can't pull off...the Warrior III's to Half Moons, Plough/Shoulder stands...so I hit the "Next" button and skipped them. I was determined though to stick with the rest of them, and I did! So, here comes phase 2 on a positive note! I've already cued up Chest, Shoulders and Triceps in the player, got out the worksheet...now I'm ready to rip it Monday mornin'!

  7. It's amazing at just how needed the "Rest" week is. I am still struggling with a lot of the yoga moves. Probably because I get frustrated easily and do cardio X instead sometimes. But from day 1 compared to today my flexibility has increased tremendously.

gratz on getting through it and good luck next week.
